A 16-year-old girl was gang-raped by four unidentified persons for six months at a college in Maharashtra’s Pune. The shocking revelation was made by the minor herself, during a counselling session at the college over the Badlapur sexual assault case, the accused of which, Akshay Shinde, died some days back.
The minor said she was gang-raped by the four people inside the washroom and some other places on the college campus.
She also claimed the four had filmed the act and had uploaded the same on social media.
According to the girl’s statement, as her videos and photos went viral, she started receiving many calls wherein unknown people spoke to her in an objectionable manner.
The accused befriended the survivor on social media. However, they did not know each other personally, news agency PTI reported.
The gangrape happened between April and September, the report stated.
Soon after the revelation, the police swung into action and arrested the four accused, two of whom were minors.
The police also registered a case against them under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Akshay Shinde, the accused in the Badlapur sexual assault case, was killed in an alleged police shootout earlier this week.
He was arrested last month for allegedly sexually assaulting two kindergarten girls at a Badlapur school.
