BANGALORE: Even as the city witnessed an almost complete bandh with offices and business coming down on Thursday, it was just another day at work for several IT professionals in the city, who were directed to work from home.Though a number of companies chose to shutdown their offices to avoid any untoward incident and show their solidarity with the bandh, outsourcing made it an entirely new ball game as processes still had to be kept running to cater to the customers outside the country. This was, however, achieved by asking employees to work from home.“Our work is not location-based so it does not matter where we work from. We chose to ask our team members to login from home since we are running on strict deadlines,” said Ajay, team leader of a major IT services company in Embassy Golf Links, Domlur. There were others, who headed to office just to enjoy a quiet day and complete some work.“All though the bandh was meant for us, it was relaxed work environment since we could login from home, otherwise it is just like any other working day,” added another IT employee.
