HYDERABAD: TDP has nominated Revuri Prakash Reddy, a senior MLA and a Telanganite, as chairman of the public accounts committee (PAC). The post is vacant after Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s term expired in March.TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu after considering several names zeroed in on Prakash Reddy.Naidu thus replaced a Reddy with another Reddy and also a Telanganite. Nagam Janardhan Reddy, after the expiry of his term, expected that Naidu would re-nominate him for another term. But, Naidu dropped Nagam, who was later suspended from the party. Naidu originally considered to nominate a senior MLA from Andhra region for the PAC chairman post. But, in the wake of strong T-movement, Naidu changed his mind and chose Prakash Reddy so that TDP would not face any problem in Telangana and also in the Reddy community.Representing Narasampet Assembly segment for the third consecutive time, Prakash Reddy was a low profile MLA and loyal to Naidu. Revuri represented TDP during the talks with the then Union home minister P Chidambaram in January 2010 on Telangana. Revuri is a T-protagonist and equally supports the party.
