Suspects still in state, say cops

THIRUVANANATHAPURAM: The police team probing into the murder of Kannadi Shaji has hinted about obtaining details regarding the whereabouts of the suspects in the case.    Circle Inspector Jayachandran of Peroorkada police has said that contrary to the earlier suspicion that the alleged murderers might have fled to other states, the police have now received a tip-off that they were still in the state.   The police have arrived at the latest theory by monitoring the calls made to and from the mobile phones of the friends and relatives of the suspects. The officer also said that the suspects, identified as notorious criminal Krishnakumar and his aides Suresh, Saneesh and another unidentified man, would be nabbed within a few days.   Meanwhile, the police have also taken into custody as many as three cars as part of the investigation. According to the statement of Ajith, who was with Shaji while the latter was murdered, the assailants had come in a car when they attacked, said the inspector.
