BHUBANESWAR: A three-day festival Suravi will be launched on Saturday on behalf of the School and Mass Education Department to celebrate Children’s Day.The festival will be organised at Unit - 9 Government High School. Around 6,000 students are expected to take part in various programmes to be organised during the three days. Also around one lakh teachers from 30 districts will participate in the programme in two phases.The event will be flagged off with a massive cycle rally that will start from Biju Patnaik Forest Park for three kms. More than 600 students will participate in this rally. Internationally renowned sand artist Sudershan Pattnaik, along with his teachers from his institute, will display the sand art to the students. There are also plans to show educational movies in Hindi and Odiya to the students in these three days. They will also be taken on a sight-seeing tour across the city.The event is supported by Swabhiman-Anjali, Bakul Foundation and other NGOs. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Speaker Pradeep Kumar Amat and School and Mass Education Minister Pratap Jena will be present at the event.
