Los Angeles: The "Step Up" movies have grossed more than $430 million worldwide, so Summit Entertainment is making a fourth, the studio announced on Tuesday.
It stars a couple of newcomers: Ryan Guzman, a model, and Kathryn McCormick, who was discovered on the television series "So You Think You Can Dance."
Music video and commercial director Scott Speer is directing.
The team behind the movie is plenty experienced: Jennifer Gibgot and Adam Shankman are producing through their Offspring Entertainment. Summit's Patrick Wachsberger and Eric Feig also are producing.
Summit says the movie "sets dancing against the vibrant backdrop of Miami."
Producer Shankman knows that city: He's shooting "Rock of Ages" there now.
"Step Up" is scheduled to begin principal photography this summer. Like the third "Step Up," it will be shot in 3D.
