Sri Lankan forces take Visuamadu as LTTE cadres fall
LTTE men have now fled to safer Teravil-Kulam, Udayar-Kattu-Kulama.

New Delhi: Sri Lankan troops have gained total control over the Visuamadu town in Mullaittivu.

The army is now busy conducting clearing operations in the area. A huge number of LTTE cadres have reportedly been killed or injured during the operation.

Military sources say that the troops have also gained control over a 10km stretch of the road, running North of Visuamadu.

The Lankan army is now mopping up the remaining LTTE resistances South of Visuamadu and Piramanthal Kulama. The LTTE fighters have reportedly fled towards the declared safer zones at Teravil-Kulam and Udayar-Kattu-Kulama.

According to available civilian and military ground information, terrorists are concentrating arsenal and fighting units among the civilians in light for what defence observe identify to trigger a 'last minute civilian tragedy.'

Thousands of innocent Tamil civilians are held at gunpoint under unprecedented hardships by the LTTE at these safe regions until its senior ranks sketch out an escape route, defence observes further stated.

Sri Lankan sources also claim recovering a bus and a recovery vehicle which is believed used to trail artillery guns by the now fleeing or dead LTTE cadres.

Meanwhile, in India the war in Sri Lanka and LTTE has become a bone of contention in Tamilnadu.

Chief Minister Karunanidhi and AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa have been warring verbally over the Sri Lankan Relief Fund.

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has thretened to sue AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa for her charges that money from Srilankan Relief Fund has been siphoned off.

The chief minister who has termed the remarks highly defamatory has sent a legal notice to Jayalalithaa demanding an unconditional apology within three days.

Jayalalithaa had in a statement alleged that it was not sure whether the funds collected by the state government reached the suffering Tamils in Sri Lanka or went into the kitty of the chief minister's family.

Jayalalithaa has defended her words by saying, "What I said is something that everybody says, so a legal notice should be sent to everybody. I will respond when I get the legal notice."
