PATHANAMTHITTA: Suresh, 43, Kuzhimannil, Mallasseri near here, a crew member in an Italian merchant vessel, was reportedly abducted by Somali pirates while the ship was passing through the Somali waters on Monday.The shipping company authorities informed his relatives on Monday that they lost contact with the merchant vessel and its crew members since Sunday evening. Relatives of Suresh sent messages to the Prime Minister, the Pravasi Affairs Minister and the State Health Minister, seeking urgent intervention in the matter.
