Smooth flight operations at IGI airport

New Delhi: Flight operations at the IGI airport in Delhi remained normal for the second day on Wednesday due to absence of dense fog.

Though the airport witnessed fog at night and in the morning but the runway visibility was good enough for smooth operations and there were no cancellations or diversion of flight, an airport official said.

Delhi airport had witnessed dense fog for three day since Christmas, leading to delay of over 350 flights and diversion of several others.

On Tuesday, passengers and airlines got some respite as the airport did not witnessed dense fog.

Though there were some delays and cancellations on Tuesday, it was due to operational reasons.

The runway visibility hovered between 800 to 1600 metres, forcing the authorities to implement low visibility procedures on Tuesday evening.
