New Delhi: The organisers of Delhi's own edition 'SlutWalk' the 'Besharmi Morcha' have finally figured a better way of communicating with everyone interested in the protest. The march is against perpetrators of crime against women, which has struck a chord across the globe.
The organisers have scheduled their first Open Debate on July 10, at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. And this will be a regular feature till the final date of the march is decided. As the protest has been subjected to a lot of questions, organisers feel this platform will help in sending out a clearer message and spread the word with more focus.
The topic for the first gathering is 'gender equality'. Which largely covers the message of the protest.
It will be a platform where, everyone can voice their opinions and raise questions to and about everything related to the protest. The organisers will be present in all the gatherings to answer all questions.
Earlier trying to mobilise only through the help of social media, 'SlutWalk' Delhi has recently also launched their website. The announcement on the website says, "We understand that Facebook is a very difficult medium to communicate and we shall be more than happy to entertain, discuss and interact in person, with everyone supporting the event."
The organisers are doing all they can to galvanise the masses, Umang Sabharwal says, "We will also be performing street plays all over Delhi as a build-up for the Walk."
She also adds, "The support that we have got has been overwhelming. It's much more than what we anticipated."
