Six sovereigns of gold robbed

KOCHI: At least six sovereigns of gold were robbed from a house in the wee hours of Thursday. The robbery took place when the four-member family was sleeping. According to police, the robber entered the two-storeyed house after the family forgot to lock the door in the night.The robber, whom the police suspect to be a young man, pushed a cloth into the mouth of the elderly woman, who was sleeping downstairs and threatened her with a knife. He then opened her almirah and decamped with the gold. The woman, Kunjamma R, has registered a case with the Palluruthy police.
