BANGALORE: The city’s North East Division police arrested six notorious criminals, including an LTTE sympathiser, who allegedly supplied ammunition in the past. The police have also seized a revolver, two country-made pistols, three sophisticated pistols and 27 live bullets.The accused have been identified as Srinivasan alias LTTE Srinivasan (40) of Veera Pillai Street, Pankaj Kumar Roy (45) alias Rohit Roy, a native from Uttarakhand and a dismissed army personnel who turned out to be an illegal arms dealer, R Narasimha Murthy alias Murthy (38) of BWSSB Colony near Soladevanahalli, G Shivakumar alias Shiva alias Bikla Shiva (35) of Mini Avenue Road near Bharathi Nagar, S Shivakumar alias Shiva (24) of Doddaballapur and S Harish Kumar alias Beauty (23) of Jaala hobli in Bangalore North taluk.The four accused, other than Srinivasan and Roy, allegedly murdered their associate, Tejas over a dispute regarding sharing money that they got through a contract killing in October 2010. In the same month, they allegedly murdered another person identified as Dadiya Manja over an issue. With the arrest of these six accused, two land mafia related murder cases have been averted as they were conspiring for the murders, the police said.According to the police, LTTE Srinivasan was picked up first and based on his information, Roy was arrested. Later, the duo tipped off the police leading to the arrest of the other four. LTTE Srinivasan used to buy ammunition from Roy and allegedly supplied it to LTTE. Srinivasan was arrested earlier also by the city police on similar charges.The police also informed reporters that Roy was an accused in the sensational murder case that was reported at Hotel Ashoka in 2001 and he was the bodyguard of the main accused in the Aparajith Basak and S S Jaiswal case. “Roy was a life convict in that case and had come out on parole in 2008, after which he was absconding. He had shifted to Uttarakand and continued his illegal arms deal. He supplied weapons to notorious gangsters of Maharashtra and Karnataka. During his arrest, he was found in possession of a fake rubber stamp and licences of the Jammu District Collector. Using it, he purchased weapons. He had buyers in North India as well,” the police added.
