CHENNAI : Sify Technologies, along with US-based company Vidyo, launched Sify Videomeet on Wednesday. This is essentially a device that will make video conferencing easier and more accessible. The product was launched simultaneously in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore via video conference.This service offers a telepresence quality experience to users present anywhere, on any device like mobile, desktop, laptop or tablet. The advantage of this product is that it is not confined to a conference room and the quality of the video is high definition (HD). It has the capability to connect you face to face with your colleagues and customers cutting across locations.Companies already using other video conferencing infrastructure can use this product without any capital investment. For a new user, the equipment costs between `2.5 lakh and `9 lakh. After the initial investment the operational cost comes to around `2,000 per user per month. Customers can avail the fixed rental package for unlimited video or can use the pay-per-use option. “We have both room-based and web-based solutions with zero capex which is our main advantage,” said CVS Suri, president and CEO Sify Enterprise Services.
