Ronjan shot 143/150 in qualifying and 49/50 in the final of the competition.

New Delhi: India's Ronjan Sodhi on Monday clinched a gold at the double trap gold in the ISSF World Cup finals in Izmir, Turkey.

Sodhi shot a stunning 195 out of 200 to emerge victorious. The World no 5 had earlier scored 143 in the qualifying round.

Sodhi, one of India's brightest medal prospects in the shooting event in the forthcoming Commonwealth Games here, had struck gold in the Lonato World Cup earlier this year with an identical score.

Just two days before the finals, Sodhi said he had been practicing hard for the shotgun World Cup and his effort seemed to have paid off.

Apart form the Commonwealth Games, Sodhi will be taking part in other important tournaments over the next couple of months, including the Asian Games in Guangzhou in November.
