KOCHI: Sobha John, the accused in the sensational Varapuzha sex scandal case, has revealed that she had 10 agents from in and outside the state for selling girls. Sobha also revealed to the investigation team that she received a maximum of Rs 25,000 from the customers.In the wake of the revelations by Sobha, the police are seriously probing the possibility of a nexus between the sex racket and the fake currency mafia in the state. Sobha, along with her accomplices Bechu Rehman and Keppa Ani, was apprehended by a 5-member police team from Bangalore on Tuesday.The victim in the Varapuzha racket reportedly identified Sobha, thus confirming her involvement in the case. The girl was allegedly sold for Rs 1 lakh by her parents to Sobha John last year.However, the police are yet to collect the details of some top guns who are reportedly involved in the case.“Police had seized a pocket diary and a SIM card from Sobha. In the diary, there are over 300 numbers with names and some addresses. We are trying to trace them. We suspect that Sobha has not kept the contact numbers of persons who are maintaining close contact with her. We need to interrogate her again for at least ten days. The police will file a custody application on Monday before the Paravoor Magistrate Court,” highly-placed sources in the police said.During interrogation Sobha revealed that the agents had sold the victim to many people, and it would be difficult to trace them. Keppa Ani, the manager and driver of Sobha, handles the task of transporting the girls to the agents. “As per the statement of Ani, we got the names of six agents. Once we take them into custody we will get a clear picture,” the police said.According to the police, Bechu Rehman, an accused in the fake currency case handed over the victim to five of his friends in Bangalore. When he was in Kochi about an year ago, he gave the girl to his friends in Kochi.
