BHUBANESWAR: The State Government on Friday suspended seven Government doctors who had appeared before the Medical Council of India (MCI) inspection team in 2010 as faculty members of privately-run Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS). The Central Bureau of Investigation had registered a case in 2010 and submitted chargesheet on January 30 and recommendation action to the State Government and MCI. Disciplinary proceedings against the seven will also be initiated.   Meanwhile, the KIMS authorities clarified it was unfortunate that seven fresh MBBS pass-outs, working in different Government hospitals, had joined KIMS as tutors without revealing their previous employment. It is very difficult to verify the personal details of all staff from out of hundreds if they do not reveal the same. The KIMS management, in a press release, said it is not at fault and disqualification of the seven doctors, presently working in Government hospitals, has no connection with the approval of KIMS.
