THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An international seminar, ‘Climate Conclave -2012’, on climate change, sustainable development and society, being organised jointly by the British Council, TKM Institute of Management and the Association of British Scholars (ABS) will be held at Kanakakkunnu Palace here on February 27 at 10.30 a.m.Addressing a news conference here on Saturday, A K Sheriff of ABS and M M Sulphey said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy would inaugurate the seminar. Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will preside over the function and release the seminar proceedings. Keynote address will be delivered by T P Sreenivasan, Vice-Chairman, Higher Education Council.There will be specially focused talks by Calicut University Vice-Chancellor Abdul Salam; James Jacob, Director of Rubber Research Institute, Kottayam; A S Devakumar, Associate Professor of GKVK Campus, UAS Bangalore; and Tatjana Good, Australia, Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Professor, Central University of Kerala, Kasargod. The afternoon session will be dedicated to sustainable development and society. There will be sessions by P B Sugathakumar, Director, ANERT, Thiruvananthapuram; Salumon S S, MD, Neighbourhood Agri Business Solutions Pvt Ltd; S Anil Kumar A R, GM, Operations, Gitpac, ATE(I) Ltd, Thiruvananthapuram and A Biju Kumar, Associate Professor, Dept of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, University of Kerala. Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar will deliver the valedictory address. Mullakkara Retnakaran MLA, will preside over the function.
