Sarath returns to Kannada films with 'Mynaa'
Sarath who has acted in over 130 films is all set to make his re-entry with a new flick 'Mynaa'.

Bangalore: Well Known Tamil actor, R Sarathkumar is back in the Kannada film industry after his last film 'Sarathi' was a roaring hit. Sarath who has acted in over 130 films is all set to make his re-entry with a new flick 'Mynaa', directed by Nagashekar.

When City Express interacted with Sarathkumar, he shared about his role as a policeman and the special looks gained for enacting this role. Beginning his career as a journalist, Sarath turned to films and made his debut in Tamil film industry. Expressing his passion for South Indian films, he said that it was his dream to bag the best roles in these films.

"The pre-production trailer of 'Mynaa' impressed me and I chose to act in this film as the story is based on a real-life incident that took place in 2008. The real incident has been fictionalised to make it a commercial venture," he added.

Sarath has started losing weight to make his characterisation make more realistic. When asked about his plans of changing his looks, he said, "My role in the film is of a policeman who has investigated more than 25-30 cases. Infact, the role is based on a Bangalore-based police officer, Ashok Kumar. The character demanding a 'lean and fit' look will relate more to the audience thereby, justifying the portrayal."

"I have utilised my own real life experiences when a friend lost Rs 70 lakh and I helped in the police investigations. This gave me an insight to get into the skin of the character," concluded the star actor.
