The Indian, who had upset fourth seed Maria Kirilenko of Russia on Monday beat Oprandi 6-7, 6-3, 6-0 in the second round.
In another event, Leander Paes and his parnter Martin Damm got through their opening tie at the Medibank International in Sydney. They beat Lukas Dlouzy and Pavel Vizner 7-6, 6-2.
