KOCHI: It might not have been as glamorous as a swanky youth fest, yet the differently-abled children of Sampoorna Special School proved with their gusto that they can never be overlooked in terms of artistic taste. With a spectacular showing at Bhavana-2012, the art festival for differently-abled students, the children of Sampoorna,clinched the crown of the overall champions.This is the second time that Sampoorna School has won the overall championship in the art festival organised by the Rotary Cochin International (RCI). Students from 25 special schools in the state participated in the festival.RCI organizes the event with an aim to provide a platform for the differently-abled children to display their talents. The event serves to instill confidence among these students and aims to bring them into the mainstream. Sampoorna School has also won the first position in the Kerala State Youth Festival-2012 in dance programme in the specially-abled category.
