The arrested ‘shooters’ in Salman Khan house firing case will be presented before a Mumbai court on Tuesday morning. The accused, identified as Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), were flown down to Mumbai from Gujarat’s Bhuj.

An image of the two in handcuffs, along with Mumbai crime branch officials, has been doing rounds on social media.

Residents of West Champaran in Bihar, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal are allegedly involved in firing gunshots outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house in Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area on April 14.

They were arrested in a joint operation by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch and West Kutch Police from Gujarat’s Bhuj late on Monday. They are history sheeters and have cases such as theft and chain snatching registered against them.

A report by Indian Express quoted Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Lakhmi Gautam as saying that the men had fled to Surat from Mumbai from where they went to Bhuj and lay low.

“They are being brought to the city where they will be produced before the court. We will be interrogating the accused to find out who gave them the contract for the firing,” Gautam was further quoted.

A preliminary investigation has confirmed their link with Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. Section 120 B (Conspiracy) will be added to the FIR registered in the case. Earlier, a case was registered in the matter under the Arms Act and Attempt to Murder.

The accused had fired four rounds outside Bandra’s Galaxy Apartments, where Salman Khan resides, around 5:00 am on Sunday and fled the spot. According to top sources, the firing was a pre-planned conspiracy. The two miscreants had reportedly rented a house for a month in Navi Mumbai’s Panvel area, approximately 12 km away from Salman Khan’s farmhouse.

They had also conducted a recce of Galaxy apartment four times before carrying out the attack.

Police are investigating to find out if the accused had conspired to carry out some operation at Khan’s farmhouse at Panvel.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the firing outside Salman Khan’s House, top Mumbai Police sources said and claimed that the attack was carried out by gangster Rohit Godara, who operates Bishnoi’s gang in Rajasthan.

Godara’s name surfaced after gangster Lawrence Bishnoi‘s brother Anmol Bishnoi allegedly took responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post and signed off the post crediting Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, Goldy Brar, Rohit Godara and Kala Jathari.

Heavy police force was deployed outside the actor’s residence, Galaxy Apartments following the incident.

After the firing, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde spoke to Salman Khan over a phone call and also held discussions with the Mumbai Police Commissioner.

Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan reacted to the gunshots that were fired at the actor’s house and said there was nothing to worry about. Speaking with CNN News18, Salim Khan said, “There is nothing to tell. They just want publicity, there is no need to worry,” he said.
