Russia informs Dawood fuelled Mumbai terror attacks
Russian officials confirm Dawood's drug money funded the attacks.

Mumbai: Additional inputs from Russia allege that notorious gangster turned drug smuggler Dawood Ibrahim is directly linked to the Mumbai terror attacks.

Russia alleges that its intelligence inputs prove that terrorists used Dawood's vast drug network to carry out the multiple attacks.

Russian officials also believe Dawood's drug money was used to fund the attacks.

Moscow made these revelations at a joint working group meeting with Indian officials.

Dawood reportedly runs his drug network from Pakistan, specifically Karachi. India has issued several requests to Pakistan to extradite Dawood who is believed to run his drug network from Karachi. But the Pakistani high command has categorically refused to extradite terror suspects to India.

Victor Ivanov, Director of Russia's anti-narcotics service said, "The inputs testify that infamous regional drug baron Dawood Ibrahim had provided his logistics network to prepare and carry out the Mumbai terror attacks."

The super profits of the narco-mafia through Afghan heroin trafficking have become a powerful source of financing organised crime and terrorist networks and destabilising political systems.
