Los Angeles: Veteran rocker Rod Stewart received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, at the famed Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
The honour comes just as his new album Thanks for the Memory...the Great American Songbook Volume IV is due to be released on October 18.
It is the newest volume of what has become the biggest selling ongoing series of new music recordings in history, with cumulative sales of more than 13 million copies worldwide.
"It's wonderful to be on this same sidewalk as Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. It's really a great honour," Stewart said.
Accompanied by his pregnant fiancee, Penny Lancaster, Stewart danced a jig atop his sidewalk star on Hollywood Boulevard.
CNN host Larry King addressed the gathering, praising Stewart "He?s one of my favorite guests. He?s one of my favorite people".
