Robbery attempt at DJB office in Janakpuri
DJB has asked the Delhi Police to deploy additional patrolling at key installations of DJB and ZRO Offices.

New Delhi: About 10 people allegedly entered the office of Delhi Jal Board in Janakpuri and made an unsuccessful attempt to loot cash by trying to break open the cash chest, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said on Tuesday. On the night of December 9 and 10, around 10 thieves entered DJB's Janakpuri Office by breaking the window and tried to cut open the cash chest to loot the cash placed there. However, they could not break or cut open the chest, a DJB spokesperson said.

Failing to cut open the chest, the thieves damaged a Corporation Bank machine which was installed there, he said. "DJB has got its cash and cash chest insured from the Oriental Insurance Company. As per the latest information received, police are yet to locate/arrest the culprits," he said.

DJB has asked the Delhi Police to deploy additional patrolling at key installations of DJB and ZRO Offices. Meanwhile, DJB has extended its 100 per cent rebate scheme on the outstanding late payment surcharge for domestic consumers till December 31. "For the convenience of its consumers, DJB has extended the 100 per cent rebate scheme on the outstanding late payment surcharge in case of domestic consumers upto December 31," the spokesperson said.

He said that all zonal offices would be available for bill related grievances on all working days from 3 pm to 5 pm. The zonal offices would organise field camps every Saturday in localities where a large number of consumers were facing bill-related problems. "RWAs and public representatives could contact the area zonal officer for organising such camps in their areas. The list of such scheduled camps would be posted on DJB's website and displayed in the office of the area," he said.
