New Delhi: A fresh post-mortem has been conducted on the body of Arindam Manna, the investigating officer in the high-profile Rizwanur Rehman death case.

This after his family complained that the first autopsy was carried out in a hurry.

Manna's body was found beside the railway tracks.

In much the same manner as Rizwan's body was found. There were probable signs of torture on the body and the sim cards in his phones were missing.

His family suspects foul play

"The second post-mortem will be carried on the body at Calcutta Medical College and Hospital," ADG (Railways), Dilip Mitra, said.

Rizwanur's body, a computer graphics teacher, was also found by the side of a rail track at Dum Dum, a suburb in Kolkata, on September 21, 2007, days after his marriage with Priyanka Todi, daughter of industrialist Ashok Todi.

According to Mitra, police have initiated a murder case at Seoraphuli GRP. "I will personally look into the matter and treat the case with utmost seriousness," he said.

The investigations into Manna's death as a suspected murder began after his family brushed aside police claim that he committed suicide.
