KADAPA: RIMS medicos once again took out a protest rally in the town on Monday following no action from district authorities against RIMS director Siddappa Gourav, in spite of district collector V Anil Kumar's assurance of immediate necessary action on the issue on Saturday night. Following the protests, Anil Kumar had visited RIMS and met with Siddappa to inquire into the allegations of students.However, the medicos were adamant on their demand for action against the director and said that they will not attend classes until health minister D L Ravindra Reddy visits the college on October 20. During inquiry, Siddappa told Anil that he had acted only in best interest of students to inculcate discipline on campus. He said that he neither had any ulterior motive nor necessity to act crass with the medicos.According to Siddappa, he had observed the water tank overflowing in the ladies hostel of the college, during his morning walk. He said that he had only approached the students to shut the motor off, so as to save the precious water.Siddappa said that, when police had brought students pairing up and chatting on the college premises even at 11.30 p.m to his notice, he put some restrictions on the students.Also, he said that he had called only the houses of students who had overstayed during their Dasara leave. "If there is no discipline in the study and work culture among students, how can one expect them to become responsible doctors?" Siddappa asked while expressing anguish over being projected badly and alleged of misbehaviors. After the inquiry, the collector left the college premises while students continued to protest demanding action against the Siddappa Gourav.
