New Delhi: Thousands of revelers are expected to gather at Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh for Sunday's Holi celebrations.

At the 200-year-old Banke Bihari temple, the most popular shrine at Vrindaban, devotees offer colour to the deities after the morning arti. They relive the legend of Radha and Krishna during holi celebrations, with singing and dancing.

Holi is celebrated in a big way in nearby Mathura as well. In fact, the festival goes on for a fortnight in the Braj area of Uttar Pradesh, with each major Krishna temple here celebrating Holi on a different day.

However, an unexpected spell of wet weather in some parts of Uttar Pradesh may prove a dampener to the celebrations.
