Mumbai: After making much noise with appearances on reality shows and music videos, Rakhi Sawant is all set to make her singing debut.
Titled Supergirl, the album will be a compilation of songs by other artistes as well. “But my song will be upfront. It will be the face of the album,” she says.
Unlike her other numbers, the song Yaara naa dil laga… will not have a provocative video. “My fans will get to see a completely new side of my personality,” she insists. “The video doesn’t need any other star. I am hot enough.”
DJ Shezwood, who had accused Mika of beating him up during the Rakhi-Mika kissing episode, has composed the song. While Rakhi maintains that it is not in retaliation to Mika’s video, she is quite convinced that her number is far superior.
Incidentally, Rakhi is not a trained singer and is relying solely on her celeb status to promote this number.
And life gets even better for her. Rakhi is also busy recording another song with Altaf Raja and Madhushree, an AR Rahman protégé, to cheer the Indian cricket team for the World Cup.
As for the remarks made about her on Koffee with Karan, Rakhi does not hold the host responsible. “Karan (Johar) only asks questions. The reactions are not his fault at all,” she justifies. For someone who hopes to be on the show, one can surely expect some buttering up.
