Railway to review travel time of MEMU service

KOLLAM: The railway is all set to review the running time of MEMU service between Kollam and Ernakulam, a week into commencement of operations in the stretch.  “Railway engineers would explore whether the present running time can be reduced,” sources said. The Principal Chief Electrical Engineer of the Southern Railway, M C Murali, is expected to reach here on Sunday and would travel in the pilot cabin of the Kollam-Alappuzha MEMU service (no. 66302) which starts from here. “The running time according to time table is 4.10 hours, while the train has been reaching the station few minutes ahead of the scheduled time,” a top official said.
