THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Association of Travel Agents’ (KATA) has urged Union Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi to take urgent steps for the full-fledged functioning of the Air India Express headquarters in the state.  Though the headquarters was transferred from Mumbai to Kochi around 10 months ago, it is yet to operate in full swing. Around 100 computers and other equipment purchased for the headquarters are remaining idle in the Kochi office. KATA alleged that the airline’s COO had not been visiting the office for the past few months. In a statement here, KATA president K V Muraleedharan and general secretary Channankara M P Kunju also flayed the cancellation of services by Air India Express. More than 300 services from the state were cancelled in the past three months. KATA urged the Minister to reinstate the services for the benefit of the passengers from the state to the Gulf sector.
