Officials are still investigating the cause of pipeline burst.
Mumbai: Mumbai faces a major water cut for the next two days after the 100-year-old pipeline burst in Bhiwandi on Monday evening.
Following the pipeline burst all parts of Mumbai from Bandra to Dahisar and Mulund will face a deficit of 35 per cent, which is above the 20 per cent cut already being enforced.
Officials are still investigating the cause of pipeline burst.
Engineers began repair work early on Tuesday morning, almost 12 hours after the incident.
Meanwhile, farmers, who have their field near the place where the pipe burst, are worried that the huge flow of water into their fields will damage standing crops.
