New Delhi: "I have a bomb on my mind," an Italian woman told her co-passenger onboard the Indian Airlines flight to Ahmedabad leading evacuation of the aircraft, which had several high-profile travellers.
Valentine Gatter-Meier (30) was under medication and having a splitting headache and her crouching posture raised suspicions and a miscommunication about the 'bomb on her mind', police sources said on Sunday.
Gatter-Meier was interrogated jointly by a team of Intelligence Bureau, CISF and Delhi Police officials and found to be innocent, they said she was let off later.
"The woman was under immense tension because of her medical condition and muttered the words to her curious co-passenger, who suspected something fishy due to her tense brows," the sources said.
The stunned co-passenger immediately alerted the air-hostess. The luggage of the woman and other passengers was re-checked and identification of passengers was confirmed again.
The plane, carrying Gujarat Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma, Textiles Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela, Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Anil Kakodkar, among others, took off following clearance from security agencies, after 9:00 p.m., a good three hours behind schedule.
