What is the latest technology procured by your centre?Prabha Eye Care, in its quest to provide the best possible eye care to it’s patients, became the first owners of the coveted LenSx technology in the entire South of India and one of the very few hospitals in the World. The LenSx Laser technology now enables blade-free cataract surgery to the patients and opens up an entirely new era in cataract eye surgery.Alcon’s LenSx Laser, the first femtosecond laser cleared for use in cataract surgery, represents a breakthrough for image-guided Laser Refractive Cataract Surgery. Now, many of the most challenging, manually executed steps can be accurately and predictably performed with computer precision and reproducibility.What are the main services offered by the centre?We provide Customised Artificial Eye, Cataract Surgery and Comprehensive fully automated clinical lab with quality bench marks certified by CMC Vellore’s External Quality System. The Comprehensive Ophthalmology services at Prabha evaluate and treat wide range of ophthalmic conditions which includes cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc. We also provide complete contact lens fitting and dispensing services. Cornea & Refractive Surgery, Facial cosmetic surgery, Orbital and ocular oncology service are important areas at the centre. Glaucoma Service by Prabha eye care provides evaluation and treatment of Glaucoma and other diseases while Refractive surgery/LASIK (Laser in situ keratomileusis) has tremendous benefits to people by providing them clearer vision and freedom from or reduced dependence on glasses. With an increasing number of patients coming to us with complaints of dry eye and occupation related eye strain, we have now opened a dedicated clinic for Dry Eyes and Computer Vision Syndrome. This Clinic is open every day with prior appointment.Are you looking at branching out?High level eye care is a very specialised area. A model of a McDonald’s or a Pizza Corner may not work here. So we are not looking at branching out.
