New York: Popular chat show host Oprah Winfrey has adopted 10 children in South Africa. She has been parenting them since 2002.
Winfrey, who says she is happy when other celebrities save black children, has sent her adopted children to a boarding school and visits them several times a year.
She has also bought a house for them and hired caretakers as well, reports hollywood.com.
But Winfrey is unhappy with the critics who lambast celebrity adoptions. She says: "They can stick it. It's a miracle when a child gets saved and I don't care if it's Brad Pitt and Angelina or somebody we have not even heard of. When I see them carrying around that little black baby that is so OK with me."
"The people who criticised Madonna don't know what they were talking about, because she saved a child," she added.
