HYDERABAD: Even as farmers continue to complain on the shortage of fertilisers in all districts of the state, officials on Wednesday presented a rosy picture to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy claiming that all stocks including urea, DAP and complex fertilisers are in excess supply and farmers need not worry. During a review meeting held at chief minister’s camp office here on Wednesday, officials informed the chief minister that the Centre has allotted 39.55 lakh MT of different fertilisers for this Kharif season against 37.45 lakh MT supplied during Kharif last year.As against the plan supply of 10.99 lakh MT of urea upto August this year, 11.08 lac MTs of urea have already been supplied. The officials said that while there is a balance of 51,000 MT of urea with retailers as on Wednesday, an additional 55,000 MT is in transit. Efforts are also being made to obtain five lakh MT during September to meet the increasing demand in the state.
