News briefs: IPSC squash tournament begins in Indore
The All India IPSC squash championship began on Friday. The three-day championship is being hosted by The Daly College at squash courts. About 10 teams will be participating in the competition, including the host. The other colleges participating in the competition are Mayo College, Welham Boys Dehradun, Delhi Public School RK Puram Delhi, Doon School Dehradun, Scindia School Gwalior, Punjab Public School Nabha, Sainik School Ghorakhal, Sainik School Kaputhala, and Modern School Delhi. The tournament will be played in U-14, U-17 and U-19 categories.

Indore: City schools celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr

Schools across the city had arranged big celebration in their campuses on the occasion of Eid on Thursday. At Delhi International School, children were taught about the importance of the festival. The Montessori Section of the school sang and danced while other children performed various numbers of other cultural programmes. Similar celebrations took place at St. Paul’s School also.

Ratlam: Himalaya International School organises book fair

Himalaya International School, Ratlam held a book fair that displayed almost 1,500 books of 750 titles for the students. The fair started on August 5 on the school premises. A wide range of books, from nursery to high school were displayed in the fair. The fair concluded on Wednesday.

Bhind: 22 teachers issued show-cause notice for remaining absent as invigilators

About twenty two teachers were issued show-cause notice by the district collector for remaining absent during board examination duty. These teachers work at different government schools and were deployed as invigilators in D Ed and high school and higher secondary supplementary examinations conducted by the MP Board of Secondary Education. Disciplinary action will be taken against the teachers.

Bhopal: State health department puts hold on pvt practice of radiologists, sinologists

The health department of the state has issued an order putting a hold on the private practice of the government radiologists and sinologists. This order will ban the diagnostic centres run by the radiologists who work in government hospitals. According to the health officials, this step was taken as the government doctors were paying more attention on private practices than government duties.

Bhopal: ICAI to organise students’ conference

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India Student’s Association will host a students’ regional conference named ‘Sapientia 2k13-Wisdom with Honour’ on August 10 and 11 at Samanvaya Bhawan, Apex Bank, TT Nagar.
