NDA heats up winter session
Despite repeated requests from the Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Opposition MPs continued to disrupt normal business in the House.

New Delhi Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till noon on Friday as Opposition members created pandemonium for the second consecutive day.

The NDA MPs persisted with their demand for the resignation of former External Affairs minister Natwar Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi from the Union Cabinet and the National Advisory Council over the Iraq oil-for-food programme.

"We want to discuss issues and the Oppositon says they want to discuss issues, but when it comes to discussing them, they back off," Kapil Sibal, Congress leader, said.

NDA sources have told IBN that they will not to let the House function on Friday.

Somnath Chatterjee, the Speaker of Lok Sabha pleaded with the House to maintain discipline, but later called for an adjournment.

Earlier in the day, at the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi had attacked the Opposition for its adamant attitude.
