New Delhi: Infosys chief mentor and chairman NR Narayana Murthy on Monday refused to reconsider his resignation as chairman of Banglore International Airport Limited (BIAL).
?I sent Narayana Murthy an e-mail and urged him to reconsider his decision. But he told me that he will not rethink his resignation,? BIAL CEO Albert Brunner said on Monday.
Narayan Murthy had resigned last week from the chairmanship of BIAL following former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda?s questioning the Infosys chief?s contribution to BIAL in the last five years.
Gowda?s six-page letter, primarily against Infosys, to Karnataka CM N Dharam Singh, questioned the government?s consideration of allotting agricultural land to Infosys.
His charges come in the wake of the Narayan Murthy-led IT group slamming Karnataka?s coalition government for poor infrastructure in Bangalore.
The former PM wanted Singh to find out whether Infosys created adequate employment opportunities in proportion to the land allotted to it. I
Brunner said that quite a few politicians were trying to convince Narayan Murthy to reconsider his decision.
