My role in Jashnn is small: Shahana

Shahana Goswami has been basking in the success of Rock On!! for some time now. The dusky actress who started her career with Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd (she played Boman Irani's daughter in the film) is now looking forward to her new movie Jashnn.

The film stars Adhyayan Suman among others. Shahana Goswami plays Adhyayan Suman's sister in the film. Here are excerpts from an interview:

Buzz 18: What is it like working with Mahesh Bhatt?

Shahana Goswami: Oh it has been fantastic! It is every actor's dream to work with him. And I'm privileged to have worked with him so early in my career. When I was shooting for Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, Shabana Azmi told me how he'd give precise directions just before a shot. I actually experienced that and it's great when you have someone who does that.

Buzz 18: Is it a conscious effort to work with directors who make serious films?

Shahana Goswami: Let's just say I want to play characters that have a definite graph. The movies I did appealed to me. Though my role in Jashnn is small, it was a challenging role. Tera Kya Hoga Johnny is a slice of life film (starring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Kay Kay Menon). Such subjects appeal to me. I love challenging roles.

Buzz 18: So do we ever see you playing a single lead any time soon?

Shahana Goswami: I am ready, please tell the producers to cast me. Earlier I lacked confidence. Now it's no longer the case.

Buzz 18: What's with the new look? Is it for a film?

Shahana Goswami: No, I just wanted a change. I do hope to use it in one of my forthcoming movies though.

Buzz 18: And what are the forthcoming movies?

Shahana Goswami: I am looking forward to Sudhir Mishra's Tera Kya Honga Johnny and Vinay Shukla's Mirch.
