Mumbai: Mumbai's most famous bar girl, Tarannum Khan is finally out of jail. Metropolitan Court in Mumbai granted her bail on Tuesday evening.
Tarannum was arrested on September 17, 2005, for alleged links with bookies to fix matches. Mumbai Police has accused her of gambling, cricket betting and tax evasion.
She was arrested on following these accusations and went under intense interrogation by the Mumbai Police.
However, police has not been able to find a single piece of evidence against her.
The court granted her bail as the cops were also unable to file a chargesheet against her even after keeping her in jail for two months.
"I am very excited to be out of jail. I want to meet my parents as soon as possible," she says.
She has also promised full cooperation to the police. "I respect the law of this country and i shall co-operate with police for any interrogation needed," she added.
Tarannum worked as a bar girl at the famous Deepa Bar in Vile Parle subururb of Mumbai and she owns a posh bungalow and a luxury car.
