Bhopal: It's not just die hard supporters of Uma Bharti who are creating problems for MP Chief Minister Babu Lal Gaur.
Even those who stood by him when allegations relating to his personal life came into the public domain seem to have deserted him now.
Shagufta Kabir who had travelled to Delhi a few months back in support of Gaur when her husband Salim Kabir had publicly alleged that the chief minister was making advances towards his wife was supposed to hold a press conference on Tuesday.
Shagufta was to read out her statement in which she has alleged that Gaur had actually made advances towards her and that her husband was right when he had labelled the allegations earlier.
Shagufta however, could not read her statement to the cameras as her sister threatened to kill herself if the former read out her statement.
"She had called the press conference to expose the real Gaur," Salim Kabir said.
Now a womens' organistaion has gone to the police alleging that she had been kidnapped at Gaur's behest. The allegations, however, turned out be false as Shagufta herself sent a statement to the police that she had moved out of her previous house.
"We first received a complaint that she had been kidnapped and later there was a completely opposite statement," Ananat Kumar Singh, SP Bhopal, said.
Though Gaur has maintained a complete silence over the entire episode, he is trying to show that everything is normal.
The heavy police presence at the venue of the press conference coupled with the way in which Shagufta has conducted herself proves otherwise.
