THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Come August, Technopark campus will metamorphose into a fashion city. IT King and IT Queen South India 2012, a mega fashion contest organised for techies in South India, will be held in the IT park during August 20-25. Selected employees from IT and ITeS firms from various parts of South India can walk the ramp full of confidence inspired by the grooming provided by top designers and fashion choreographers in the country. The icing on the cake will be the presence of Bollywood celebrities. On why Technopark was selected to stage the event, representatives of organising firms Katalyzt and Travan TrenDz said their aim is to change the image of Thiruvananthapuram from being a city lukewarm to fashion to the hub of fashion in Kerala. “The registration for the programme has begun and we are getting a big response from all over South India,” informed Prem Shankar S, Jackson N and Shaun Fernando of Travan TrenDz, a model management firm. “The entire team of the Bangalore Fashion Week, including Bangalore-based fashion designer Ramesh Dembla, will reach the city to groom the participants. The grooming session will last four days, when the participants would get top-notch training on dress, style, ramp walk etc,” said Afif Nizar and Vishnu Vinay of Katalyzt, an event management company. Lead fashion photographers Manoj Masand and Anson Antony and stylist Robert Naorem too are expected to be part of the show. Models, including Nafisa Ali, Mugda Godse and Parvathy Omanakuttan, are likely to add glamour quotient to the event. Around 100 techies will be shortlisted from their online portfolio. Participants will be groomed for four days. Equal number of men and women will reach the grand finale to be held on August 25 at Technopark. The winners will be conferred with the titles of IT King and IT Queen.
