Mother refuses to buy mobile, girl kills self

HYDERABAD: A 16-year-old girl set herself ablaze at her house in Balakrishnapuram in Shivaramapalli on Sunday night after her mother refused to buy her a swanky mobile phone.Cyberabad police said Heena Unnisa (16) has been asking her mother, Gousia Begum, to buy her a high-end mobile phone. "But her mother refused citing their financial problems," police said.The incident occurred when Begum was talking to neighbours outside the house and suddenly heard loud cries of her daughter from the house.By the time she went inside, Heena was engulfed in flames. She was rushed to Osmania General Hospital but died while undergoing treatment.
