Mumbai: Bollywood director and choreographer Farah Khan gave birth to her triplets on Monday at Mumbai's Jaslok's Hospital.

Farah had one son and two daughters by Caesarian section.

She had married Shirish Kunder, who was the editor of Main Hoon Na in 2004 and in an interview to The Times of India had confessed to being shocked that she was pregnant at 43.

"I'd like two boys and a girl," she had told the English daily.

Farah had shot to national fame with her choreographic sequences in Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar and has won acclaim and awards for her work in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, Monsoon Wedding and the musical Bombay Dreams, to name a few.

She had also choreographed Shakira's moves for a Bollywood version of the singer's hit 'Hips Don't Lie', which was performed at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2006.

One of last year's biggest films - Shah Rukh-starrer Om Shanti Om - was Farah's second directorial venture, with the first being Main Hoon Na, which had also starred King Khan.
