BHUBANESWAR: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Raghunath Mohanty criticised the Opposition Congress for disrupting the proceedings of the Assembly on Wednesday as a result of which discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address could not be started.The Minister said the Government was ready to discuss any issue raised by the Opposition and Congress members were doing harm to parliamentary democracy by not discussing the issues in the House.He said the Congress members disrupted the proceedings from the beginning of the question hour on Wednesday as a result of which many important issues could not be raised. He requested them to cooperate in establishing normalcy in the House so that important issues could be taken up for discussion.Discussion on the thanks motion was to be held for two sitting days. Because of the disruptions, it will now have to be completed in a day, he added.
