Mumbai: Tarannum Khan, the millionaire bar dancer, her father and bodyguard were arrested by the city police late on Thursday night.
They were arrested on charges of assault and threatening to kill a private security guard for demanding monthly wages.
Police Inspector Arun Barude said in Mumbai on Friday that Khan had hired a private security guard Babu Singh, 55, on the remuneration of Rs 4,000 per month.
But since last four months, he had not received wages from Tarannum. On August 16, Singh asked for his payment dues of Rs 16,000 from her. Tarannum, her father A Khan and bodyguard Raju Pastee got angry at this and assaulted Singh. They also threatened him if he dared to come before them for payment.
Singh went to Varsova police station on August 16 and lodged a complaint, Barude said and added that after a thorough inquiry, the trio was arrested on Thursday night.
They were booked under section 324 (causing hurt by dangerous weapons), 506 (threat be to cause death or grievous hurt) and 114 (Abettor present when offence is committed). They would be produced in the court later on Friday.
Tarannum was arrested earlier on charges of cricket betting and she was booked under gambling act. At present she is on bail.
She had come under scanner after the Income Tax officials raided her bungalow and recovered Rs 22 lakh in cash and some valuables.
