BANGALORE: Demanding the withdrawal of the order to close down some government schools, Jana Shakti and Karnataka Vidyarthi Vethana have decided to hold a ‘Think Meet’ on November 16. The two groups have also urged the State Government to take stern action against the police for attacking the workers of Janashakti on November 1. To further their cause, the two groups will conduct a meeting on November 16 at 4.00 at Kannada Sahitya Parishat. Their allegation is that the government is closing down certain schools because those schools lack students. This, they say, is a disguised attempt at closing down schools that promote the Kannada language making it hard for Kannada culture to survive.
