Srinagar: The army on Tuesday shot dead a 45-year-old man who was moving about in a high-security locality, barely 100 m away from Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's house, official sources said.
The man identified as Abdul Reshi, a resident of Pahalgam, was moving around at Gupkar locality at about 2200 hrs IST when the army personnel on duty reportedly confronted him.
The man tried to escape when the army officers opened fire killing him on the spot, the sources said quoting army officials.
