Man kidnapped, released

BANGALORE: In a land dispute, a realtor was kidnapped by four persons and was later released. The incident was reported in Vidyaranyapura police station limits.According to the police, Eshwara Reddy, a resident of Dodda Bommasandra, and his neighbour Narayana Reddy, allegedly had a dispute over land. The latter allegedly asked Eshwara to come to Kodigehalli to discuss the issue on Monday.When Eshwara Reddy was in Kodigehalli to meet Narayana Reddy, he was allegedly kidnapped by Suresh, Krishna and other unknown person, all associates of Narayana Reddy, the police said.However, Eshwara managed to contact his brother Subbarama Reddy through phone and informed him that he was abducted. The kidnappers allegedly assaulted Eshwara and forcibly made him to sign a few empty bond papers and other documents related to a property.He was released on Tuesday, the police added.In his statement given to the police, Eshwara Reddy has stated that the kidnappers threatened him of dire consequences if he did not sign the documents and he was unaware of what the documents contained, the police explained.Later, the victim filed a kidnap case with Vidyaranyapura police and further investigations are on.
