KOCHI: “Communication has become a lot easy today. Let us use Facebook for good things, its not just a venue for time pass and casual fan talk. Together we can do lot of good things for the society and the Malayalam film industry through these mediums.” This was Mammootty’s first message to his fans through Facebook following a function held to celebrate yet another milestone the actor has surpassed in his career: his fan following has crossed 1 lakh on Facebook. Earlier, Mammootty had posted another request on Facebook seeking help for free heart surgery for children. The celebration, held at the shooting location of his new movie “Cobra” was also attended by Susheela George, chairperson of Sherwood International School in Abu Dhabi, who responded to the actor’s request by pledging him an amount of `1 crore for the heart surgeries being conducted through the charity organisation Care and Share International Foundation, of which Mammootty is the patron.
